Frimpong Evans

Evans Frimpong is a Ghanaian footballer who plays for Detroit City FC in the National Independent Soccer Association. Frimpong began his youth career playing for Liberty Babies FC alongside Kwadwo Asamoah of Juventus F.C., Rabiu Mohammed, Abdul Aziz Tetteh of Lech Poznań and Daniel Agyei. He captained the team at the 2008 Gothia Cup in Sweden where they were runners up. Frimpong also made the shortlist for Ghana's 2007 national U-17 football team. He then moved to United States after getting scholarship through Ian Hennessy, coach of Delaware where he became the first player in the school's history to be drafted.

"I have soccer academy in my village with my friend called Sammy Appiah. We built Desire Academy in 2015. Purpose was about how we came through scholarship to America for college, we used that connections to help bring kids to high school and colleges. It’s easy for city players to be seen by scouts but not so easy for players from villages to be seen that is why we made the academy to help these players get fair chance to play the game and give them good education."
